Michael Hart

Michael Hart is the Managing Partner for Merit Outsourcing Advisors, formerly with Deloitte and IBM. His expertise is focused on outsourcing deal investigation, developing outsourcing strategies, providing outsourcing transaction leadership, vendor management and optimization strategies.He is an elite outsourcing advisor, with a strong working knowledge of Human Resources, Customer Care, Finance & Administration, Procurement, Information Technology and other business processes. He has been involved in strategy development, vendor selection, contract negotiation, implementation, vendor management strategies, contract restructuring and renewals for over 150 material outsourcing arrangements with contract values exceeding $10 billion.Michael's extensive outsourcing background includes a leadership role in the Outsourcing Advisory Services practice with Deloitte Consulting; Managing Director responsible for business development and general management of the Canadian practice for another outsourcing advisory firm, EquaTerra; and BPO deal leader for IBM. He also built the outsourcing business in Canada for Pitney Bowes Management Services after spending 11 years with Xerox Canada in Marketing and Sales.   Michael has a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Schulich School of Business, York University in Toronto. He is a frequent speaker at outsourcing industry events, including the Centre for Outsourcing Research & Education (CORE), The Canadian Institute, Outsourcing Service Provider Roundtable, Project Management Institute and the Canadian IT Law Association. He also serves on a wide range of corporate and not-for-profit boards. Michael is on the CORE Executive Education Faculty, is an advisor to the CEO & Board of Directors, and co-authored the most recent version of the CORE State of Canadian Outsourcing research report.
