Can you outline why your team embarked on this project and the problem that needed to be solved?

Supply chain management can be a game changer for a business’s bottom line. Companies are demanding more out of their supply chain, and procurement divisions need to keep up. At a minimum, smart procurement solutions can dramatically cut costs, but they can also drive innovation. Hilton Supply Management is a living example of that.

The client, a telecommunications major, was looking to optimize their procurement operations and streamline their ongoing technology transformation initiative. Owing to GEP’s depth of offerings and expertise in procurement and supply chain, and top-of-the chart analyst ratings, the client chose GEP as their procurement services partner to address the following challenges:

    The Sourcing Playbook is a set of flexible, standardized templates with accompanying training for certain critical deliverables within FedEx Services Sourcing & Procurement’s Sourcing Methodology (sourcing process).

    Fannie Mae has traditionally engaged a broad range of third-party suppliers across different channels for advice, expertise, production support, development, governance and other services. The demand for professional services has ranged from single freelance experts to hundreds of resources for development to firms with methodologies and benches to deliver significant changes to our accounting and governance systems.

    Can you outline why your team embarked on this project and the problem that needed to be solved?

    Aligning with Microsoft’s overall mission to “Empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more,” and the company’s long-term commitment to carbon neutrality, (since 2012), Microsoft’s Responsible Sourcing team recognized a gap in its own, and hence Purchasers as a whole, ability to accurately measure the CO2 footprint of a global supply chain.
