The world is entering its fourth Industrial Revolution, commonly referred to as Industry 4.0. While Western economies ruled the first three industrial revolutions (steam, electrification, automation), the economies that will dominate a 4.0 World are unknown. The future is up for grabs.

How did you get into this field – was it purposeful or by accident?
I have always been obsessed with new technologies so when I was exploring what major to pursue during my early studies I jumped at the chance to focus on sourcing as a perfect blend of technical and commercial challenges to solve.

Well over 100 years ago, the gasoline powered internal combustion engine revolutionized the “modern” transportation industry. Back then, the term modern could be used for technologies like the linotype machine or the electric fan. Fast forward to today and we are standing on the brink of an innovation that is set to rewrite transportation, and in turn, the logistics Industry.
