The client, a Fortune 500 CPG company, wanted to improve its procurement resource efficiency, speed up operations and enable the team to focus on strategic goals and value creation rather than on day-to-day repetitive, administrative tasks.

Can you outline why your team embarked on this project and the problem that needed to be solved?

The existing contracts for BMO’s two armored car carriers (ACC suppliers) and Canadian cash processor were expiring. Our Sourcing team was originally engaged to support business-as-usual standard renewals, but we saw a greater opportunity to simplify, standardize and integrate our cash management process by moving to a sole source provider for turnkey cash management.

Can you outline why your team embarked on this project and the problem that needed to be solved?

I began my career in supply chain as a manager at a 3PL warehouse. Hiring and retention were the #1 challenge on the warehouse floor. The constant turnover affected every aspect of the warehouse’s operations. It all stemmed from a major disconnect between managers and hourly workers.
